Yoga Easter Egg Hunt
Spring is in the air and as Nature starts to show signs of new life, it is the perfect time for children to discover their connection to the natural world through yoga! Yoga allows kids to appreciate how things grow and the beauty all around them.
Instead of tossing those Easter baskets aside, why not use them to explore some fun Nature yoga and breathing exercises? You can recycle those plastic Easter Eggs and plan a yoga egg hunt indoors or outdoors that your kids will love! It makes a great rainy day activity too!
Prep and hide your plastic Easter Eggs with animal stickers or use this sheet of cute Easter Clip Art you can cut out.

In honor of the Easter Bunny, start with a BUNNY BREATH.
Wriggle your nose like a bunny, and start taking quick, short breaths out through your nose.
Are you hungry? Let’s sniff around for some carrots!
Tell your child you will be going on an YOGA EASTER EGG HUNT!
Take turns opening the eggs and doing the yoga poses or movements of the animals or objects on the stickers or printed clipart.

How fun! And what a great and economic idea to put stickers inside the plastic eggs! I taught a class for elementary age kids this week and made their final relaxation a variation of child’s pose and gave them each a plastic egg to care for as if they were chicken-moms (we even played a chicken game during class). After we sat at the end of class I invited them to open their eggs, where they found little cotton chicks (50 cents each!) and even the boys were in love with them! 🙂 Happy Easter to you, too!

Hi!
I am doing yoga teacher training and was wondering if you mind if I use this idea for a themed class? What a fun idea!
